| Business Models |
| ASMACS pursues a variety of models for delivering
its services to its customers. It includes: |
1. Flat Fee basis
2. Time and Material basis (a) Offshore
Model (b) Onsite Resourcing Model
3. Dedicated Offshore Development (Dod)
4. Joint Venture towards development/marketing
5. Flexi Model |
I. Flat Fee basis |
The Flat fee model is applicable when the
customer’s need and deliverables are specified and the
project path is well defined. Since the design and execution
of the project are outlined at the beginning of the project,
this is a low risk option for the customer. The progress of
the project is monitored in accordance with the mutually agreed
upon milestones and deliverables.
As per the guidelines of this model, the customer shall pay
a pre-agreed flat fee and the ASMACS team shall ensure quality
delivery of the project within the pre-scheduled period. The
functional specification phase is carried out at client-site,
and the design, coding, unit testing and integration testing
are carried at the offshore development facility. The system
designing and acceptance is finally completed at the client-site.
However, the resources are so deployed to ensure that the right
skills are made available at necessary locations at the appropriate
time.
The typical steps followed in this model are: |
- Requirement definition is communicated by
the client
- ASMACS responds with its understanding of the requirements
- ASMACS quotes a flat fee for the development of the project
- On acceptance of the proposal by the client, the project plans
are drawn-up
- ASMACS manages the complete development cycle. The customer
is kept informed and also involved in the reviews
through weekly reports, emails, teleconference and joint reviews
- The customer is provided with complete transparency into the
project based on his/her need
- The acceptance is carried out by the customer and ASMACS provides
help (onsite or offshore) during this period
- The post-release maintenance services take care of the enhancements
and bug fixation, if required |
| II. Time and Material Basis |
| Offshore Model |
In situations, when it’s not easy to
define scope, specification and implementation plan of the project
in an explicit manner or when it is a maintenance project and
testing job; time and material based pricing is the suitable
approach for a customer. This happens because of the typical
nature of technology projects that include integration of heterogeneous
environments, exploratory attempts in unknown areas etc.
As long as the team is deployed on the project, the client is
charged on a pre-decided man-hour rate for the dedicated team.
Modifications to the team-size and composition are anticipated
and planned at the outset, but can be made during the project
as well. Our competency to ramp-up the team in minimum time
frame adds value in the form of lower gestation period and reduced
development time. Often, when travelling is essential, the agreed
upon terms and conditions shall be effective. ASMACS offers
to convert the project to fixed-cost project once the requirements
are firmed up. |
| Onsite Resourcing Model |
The Onsite model is practiced when duration,
nature, desire or secrecy of work demand that our consultants
presence at the client’s site. The consultant’s
onsite report to the client’s project head, and report
to ASMACS headquarters by weekly timesheet for billing and other
communication with the client. During the assignment, our consultants
report to the customer’s project manager.
Our onsite services span a number of computing environments
and business areas. Depending on the customer’s technical
and business application requirements, we can provide consultants
and programmers from the vast resource pool available with us.
The services we will provide include Requirement Study, Design,
Coding, Testing, Maintenance and Support.
Under this arrangement, the client is billed on the basis of
actual software professional-month/hour spent on executing the
project at pre-decided rates. |
| III. Dedicated Offshore Development
(Dod) |
ASMACS will be able to create a dedicated
offshore Development facility to cater to product Development,
R&D and Support for the Businesses. In this model, various
resources including people, Infrastructure, and Software are
dedicated exclusively for a customer. The Customer pays for
the products, materials and all resources deployed in the project
for the complete duration. A MOU and Agreement is signed between
the customer and ASMACS to maintain secrecy of the information.
The typical reasons for customer to go for this model are: |
- It meets the long term outsourcing strategy.
- An effective and established offshore development facility
which works like an ‘extension’ to the
customer team.
- Dedicated team trained on your line of business, systems and
processes.
- Infrastructure dedicated to your projects.
- Hardware and software tools are in sync with the customer’s
development environment providing exclusive access
to ‘extended’ teams, which results in higher transparency
in management and progress.
- Extended working hours because of time zones.
- Billing as based on :
- Engineer-months/hour at the rate contracted
- Expenses as approved on actual for onsite work |
| IV. Joint Venture for development
/ marketing |
This model works on basis of joint activities
towards development, marketing as well as revenue sharing. The
typical scenario involves investment of time and material towards
product development to address issues related Resource availability,
Technology expertise and Development cost and time. The current
market scenario commands for partnerships to survival, distance
and culture are no more a factor.
ASMACS has fully integrated capabilities to market products
and services on broad spectrum of platforms and domains. We
believe in philosophy of “Developed locally and marketing
globally” to provide ROI to the partners and vendors.
We will also be able to provide consultancy and expertise in
establishing an offshore facility for partners and clients. |
| V. Flexi Model |
| ASMACS is continuously identifying, researching
and defining models and economic systems that are essential
for collective growth and benefit to customers. Our flexible
operating model can support innovative business-engagements
as requested by client. We would like servicing our customers
as more of PARTNERS than Vendors. |
